You can't praise Quynh Anh enough for doing Bonjour Vietnam. She has the look, and a voice out of this world. If you are an expatriate your heart will sink, if you are a Vietnamese period, you will be in awe. Yet, she's Belgian. Ladida...

The Vietnamese Heritage Institute


Remember the Vietnam war? Well, I grew up there and didn't get to the States until 1969. A big piece of me will always be in Vietnam wherever I wander in this world. The war is way over, more than half of the population was born after it, the nation is forging ahead in wealth and health, but there are still plenty of poverty and destitution. I am doing what I can to help by working with the Vietnamese Heritage Institute located in Berkeley, CA.

Bhutto


Henry James said it well, like many others before and after him, but few listen. Today, they assassinated Benazir Bhutto. What a dreadful way to end the year. People can accuse her of anything they want to, but she will be remembered for her courage, and her assassins cowards.
